The Obamas go to Necker, the private island owned by Sir Richard Branson


Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are in a relaxed mood. They have left Palm Springs after a weekend break in the desert and are bound for the Carribean. First Lady Michelle was seen boarding a private jet owned by Sir Richard Branson.
Necker Island is owned by Sir Richard Branson and is part of the Carribean archipelago.

Galactic Girl is the name of the private jet of Branson. It is a French made Falcon 900EX which is a long range, ultra luxury corporate jet. It has a maximum cruising altitude of 36,000 feet, speed of mach 0.87 and is customized for each owner - it can accommodate office space or beds.
The weather on Necker Island is significantly better than conditions in Palm Springs, which is affected by a winter storm warning. The island had some rain recently but it is predicted to remain dry, sunny, and around 80f for the rest of the week.
