It was also unclear if any of the DJs were among the dead.
This has been reported in thehindu.com dated 4 December 2016.
The venue of the rave party was a warehouse near San Francisco. Oakland Fire Chief has said that most of the victims perished in the blaze that started about 11:30 pm on the upper floor of the two-story warehouse known as Oakland Ghostship.
Some of the missing were from overseas, hence identification of the victims, believed to be in their 20s and 30s, was difficult. The warehouse housed an artist collective and numerous partitions had been added and a makeshift stairwell built from pallets. In fact, some of the structural changes made it extremely difficult for people to escape.
The fire has been described as the deadliest tragedy in Oakland since the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in northern California that left 63 people dead. The deadliest nightclub fire in the United States in recent decades was in 2003 - at that time, pyrotechnic effects by the rock band Great White had set off an inferno at The Station nightclub in Rhode Island in which about 100 people were killed.
