Secret and unconventional weapons of Bangalore Police - curd, onions, oil, and bedsheets

Bangalore Police have innovated their range of weapons and carry many unconventional weapons as well to take care of criminals in the city. These weapons range from a few stray onions, packets of curd, bottles of oil, rope and even a helpful bedspread or two. These are the secret tools of the policing trade.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 13 July 2016.
Uses of bedspread - recently, the police had to chase down an Ugandan woman in Majestic and later, KC General Hospital. She claimed to be HIV-positive and threatened to bite any policemen who came near her. Therefore, an enterprising policeman got hold of a bedspread, threw it over her and overpowered her.
Curd and onion - these come in handy when arresting habitual offenders. Experience has shown that such people are usually drunk and difficult to handle. For them, the surefire home remedy is to shove some onion pieces into the mouth and pour in some curd. That counters the effect of alcohol.
Use of oil - this is usually used to nab an offender without handcuffs. The policeman applies coconut oil or castor oil on their palms, hands and feet so that they do not escape for at least an hour.
