Air conditioned bus service starts from Kolkata to Arambagh


Air conditioned bus service was flagged off from Kolkata to Arambag. The bus will leave from Arambag at 7.20 a.m. every day and reach Karunamoyee bus terminus in Salt Lake at 9.30 a.m. It will again leave Karunamoyee bus terminus at 10.30 a.m. for the return trip and the fare per passenger will be Rs 140 for the full journey. The seating capacity of the bus is 40.

This service will be operated by South Bengal State Transport Corporation.
The state transport department has plans to introduce more AC buses from Kolkata to Jayrambati, birth place of Maa Sarada. Other bus services on the anvil are from Kolkata to various remote locations in the state, including Tarapith, Shantiniketan, Murshidabad, Mukutmonipur, Jhalda and Santaldih.
The intention is to develop the transport system and improve connectivity between places of tourist interest.
