Pakistani sweet shop owner kills 30 people by adding pesticide to sweets


The owner of a sweet shop in Pakistan has admitted to killing at least 30 people by using pesticides - he had added the poison to a tray of sweets in order to take revenge on his elder brother. The incident has happened in the Punjab province.
This has been reported in news.sky.com dated 6 May 2016.
It seems the killer was "insulted and abused" by his elder brother in a business dispute. Therefore, in order to each him a lesson, he added the poison to the sweets that were being prepared at the time. This poisoned batch of sweets was purchased by a local man who, in turn, gave them to family and friends while celebrating the birth of his grandson.
A total of 52 persons took the sweets and the death toll from these poisoned sweets was 30. The dead included the father of the baby, six of the baby's uncles and one aunt apart from five children other children, Four of the victims are still in hospital.
Police have arrested both the brothers and one of their employees.
