Woman traveling without ticket refuses to pay fine - says catch Vijay Mallya first

This is a bit of news that should be on interest to leaders like our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu. A middle aged woman from a well-to-do family boarded a local train in Mumbai without purchasing a ticket. When asked to pay a fine by the woman Ticket collector, she refused and preferred to go to jail. She said - first catch Vijay Mallya and recover money from him!!
This has been reported in ibnlive.com dated 23 March 2016.
The 44-year-old mother of two, belonging to an affluent family, was caught for traveling ticket-less. She chose to go to jail for seven days instead of paying a fine of Rs 260 - her argument was that the authorities should first arrest and recover the loan dues from liquor baron Vijay Mallya.
The incident happened at Mahalaxmi station of suburban network. When asked to pay up the fine of Rs 260, she, according to the Railway Police, said they should first arrest Mallya who owes the banks over Rs 9,000 crore. She was produced in the magistrate's court and asked to pay the fine but she stuck to her stand and chose to go to jail for seven days.
All sorts of persuasion by a lady police constable went in vain as she refused to pay up the paltry fine and go. She wanted to know why the authorities were going soft on Mallya and harassing the common man. Even her husband failed to convince her and she insisted on serving the seven-day jail term.
Honorable Ministers of India - please note the feelings of the common man. Mud slinging and blaming the previous regime is fine but, firm action must be taken in such cases otherwise people will not have trust in you and will doubt your words.
