The tea could be green tea, black tea or even white tea, with/without milk, hot/cold - the antioxidant qualities in the polyphenolic compounds present in any type of tea protects the body against cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and certain types of cancer.
There are different ways of processing the leaves that go to produce various types of tea. The polyphenolic compounds are present in all the forms and are absorbed by water. So, it goes into the body when one drinks tea. Drinking green tea could reduce the risk of advanced prostate cancer.
