35th India International Trade Fair (IITF) to focus on Modi's 'Make in India'


The 35th edition of India's largest trade fair India International Trade Fair (IITF) has kicked off at the sprawling Pragati Maidan grounds and President Pranab Mukherjee has termed it as an opportunity for India to strengthen its bilateral trade relations with the world.
The Commerce and Industry Ministry Nirmala Sitharaman has added that the event is of a "global stature" and would see participation by at least 28 countries. The theme of this edition will be that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Make in India" initiative.

The India International Trade Fair (IITF) is a brand name that is recognized all over the world and is meant to improve the country's bilateral relations with the rest of the world.
The two-week fair would come to an end on November 27, and the first five days are kept reserved exclusively for business visitors.
According to the organizers, over 7,000 firms from India and abroad are participating in the fair. The overseas participation is from countries including Egypt, Bhutan, China, Cuba, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tibet, Turkey and the UAE.
Last year had seen a footfall of over 1.4 million.
