Russian warplanes violate Turkish airspace – blames it on bad weather

Turkey has complained that a Russian warplane had violated its airspace on Sunday, the second such breach in three days and it led to Ankara summoning Moscow's ambassador. There have been violation of Turkey’s airspace by Russian fighter planes and Russian defense ministry has admitted to these but has clarified that the first incursion had been an accidental one when a Su-30 jet had entered Turkish airspace 'for a few seconds.'
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 6 October 2015.
However, NATO has dismissed the claims by Moscow that its fighter jets had entered Turkish airspace by mistake because of bad weather – NATO insists that the incursions were 'not an accident'.
Moscow has explained that Khmeimim was the Syrian airbase from which Russian planes were flying missions and it was located about 18 miles from the Turkish border. The aircraft had to approach it from the north in certain weather conditions when possibilities of intrusion into Turkey can happen.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has remarked that these were 'not an accident' while British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon has condemned Russia and indicating that 'I sincerely hope we are not getting closer to World War Three.'
