This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 1 October 2015.
The bald eagle disappeared from the Raptor Centre in Groombridge, Kent during the afternoon display and was last spotted at Ashdown Forest in East Sussex next morning. Its owners Freddie and Veronica Hare are on the road searching for her. It is the first time in 17 years that the bird has escaped.
A local resident, who has five Jack Russell terriers and a six-year-old, has revealed that he would keep them all inside till the bird is found. Bald eagles can kill animals as large as raccoons, beavers and even lambs with their sharp talons. These birds are native to north America and Helga has been in Kent since she was 18 weeks old.
