As indicated by the Noida Authority, consultants have proposed three routes in the city and, one of these has been shortlisted. A feasibility plan and a detailed project report (DPR) are to be prepared within the next 10 days.
The city's first tram route is likely to be built from Mahamaya flyover to Sector 132, parallel to the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, and connecting these two places with Noida Metro stations in the area. The tram route is expected to traverse sectors 94, 124, 125, 126, 128, 131 and 132.
The pilot line, proposed in the Noida to Greater Noida direction, will be 10.5-Km long and would cater to institutional and residential sectors in the area. The cost would be in the region of Rs 20 crore per km, but the actual cost can be arrived at only after finalizing the DPR.
