This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 20 July 2015.
Since the whole village was missing, the local police had to be vigilant and keep watch to ensure that there were no thefts. The villagers cooked food in the forest, and spent the whole day dancing and performing rituals before coming back to their homes in the evening.
The village of Tummala Penpahad has about 400 acres of agricultural fields and it depends mainly on the monsoons and, with the village tank also drying up, the farmers were unable to take up cultivation work. They believe that a curse has fallen on the village.
This is believed to be the first time such an event had been organized in the district.
