Australian pilot Chad Nowak wins International drone racing competition in California

#droneracing #californiastatefair #chadnowak It was a drone racing competition, an unconventional but increasingly popular type of sporting event. It was the first international drone racing contest held in California State Fair and budding pilots had been invited from all around the globe to take part and battle it out for the inaugural US National Championship. The prize was US$25,000 in cash prizes.
This has been reported in gizmag.com dated 19 July 2015.
There was a total of 100 pilots who participated in three separate events – these were an individual time trial, a team time trial and a freestyle stunt competition where pilots perform barrel rolls and other maneuvers to impress the judges.
The winner was Australia's Chad Nowak – he had been flown over to compete in the US courtesy of his sponsor, Immersion RC. He had attended a drone race in Melbourne and, he has now succeeded in winning all three titles of the first international drone racing contest. He succeeded in negotiating the course's gates and obstacles more than two minutes ahead of his nearest rival in the individual time trial. In the team time trial he was a part of Team Immersion and came out on top. Same in the freestyle event.
