IMD revises its forecast – heavy rains expected in western coast

Weather is an unpredictable entity and the IMD had sent loads of panic when it had forecast last week that the monsoons this year would be below normal but it may have to now modify its forecast because of a depression in the Arabian Sea.
The revised forecast of the India Meteorological Department IMD is that due to a depression in the Arabian Sea, there would be heavy rains in the western coast of the country namely, in Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat.
This has been reported in zeenews.com dated 8 June 2015.
IMD has not yet labeled it as a "cyclonic storm", but Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency, feels that the "depression" has already developed into a "deep depression" and is rapidly gaining strength with the features of a "tropical storm".
In the opinion of experts, such a phenomenon could affect the progress of monsoon. There have been occasions when such weather patterns help to give more moisture to the monsoon winds and help in progress.
