Invisible soldiers of US Army – camouflage colors to keep updating based on background

#invisiblesoldiers #UnitedStatesArmy The US Army plans to develop an invisibility suits for its soldiers and has given a time limit of 18-months to would-be suppliers. The US Army wants firms who have expertise and knowledge of developing 'stealth fabrics' to get in touch. The suit must be able to operate in every terrain, from deserts to jungles - and in every temperature.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 7 May 2015.
The requirement is clearly defined – the wearable camouflage should possess a chameleon-like ability to change according to the background by continuously updating its colors thereby hiding the soldier from his current environment.'
The contractors would require to demonstrate the feasibility of their approach in the first six months of the program.
The successful contractors would be required to submit 10 prototype uniforms for testing. The uniforms must be able to work in all terrain from all angles, function across a wide range of temperatures, in rain and snow, and must not hamper the normal duties of a soldier. In case the adaptive camouflage has to have a source of power, it must weigh no more than 0.45 kilograms and provide at least 8 hours of operation.
