Blast in Kolkata local train leaves 18 injured - bomb blasts everyday affair in West Bengal

It was an early morning local train and, at least 18 passengers were injured when a bomb exploded. It was termed as a robbery bid at Titagarh station which is situated roughly 21km from Sealdah. Five of the injured are believed to be serious as reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 12 May 2015.
In the opinion of the police, the bomb went off accidentally during an argument between goons, but the railway officials differ. They believe it was a "gang war".
Whatever it be, the fact remains that some criminals did board the train with bombs.
While most of the injuries are from bomb splinters, others are of compound fractures because of jumping from the train due to panic.
West Bengal has always been known to be the land of intellectuals. The favorite phrase of 'what Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow’ appear to have lost steam. Today, Bengal is the breeding ground of bomb makers. The bombings in Titagarh on municipal Election Day and the explosions at Pingla and Ketugram, followed by this blast in the train has raised the questions on the lawlessness prevailing in the state.
It is a known fact that hooliganism and gundaism is supported by all the major political parties who maintain teams of supporters who get paid in different ways – and, thus, unemployment is kept in check to a large extent.
