Safe deposit boxes are not safe any longer from burglars

#HattonGarden #jewelry #metropolitanpolice #London It has happened over the Easter Weekend in a vault in central London and could happen anywhere else. Metropolitan Police have revealed that heavy cutting equipment was used by the burglars to get into a vault at the premises in Hatton Garden. The vault has 600 safety deposit boxes and 300 of these have been ransacked.
This has been reported in news.sky.com dated 7 April 2015.
Officers from the Flying Squad are investigating the break in at Hatton Garden Safe Deposit and, from preliminary investigations it appears that the suspects could have used a lift shaft to gain access to the vault. The targeted area in London is popularly known as London's jewelry quarter and the safe deposit boxes at the premises are mainly used by jewelers in Hatton Garden to store their jewelry and loose diamonds in packets.
The value of the heist could be in terms of "hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pounds" because most of the vaults are belonging to people in the trade.
