This incident reveals the lack of toilet sense of Indians.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 15 March 2017.
Aircraft toilets get blocked if a passenger throws any object into the toilet, like a plastic bottle, soiled diapers, a bunch of tissue papers. Such objects damage its vacuum flush system and, in such cases, the object has to be located, removed and system flushed. This is a time-consuming process and the flight is delayed.
In the older days, a blue liquid chemical was used to flush the toilet system and, in case of a blockage, hot water was an answer. Today, aircraft like the Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 have a vacuum flush which is advanced technology and, once it is blocked, there is nothing much the cabin attendants can do except make a log entry.
