This has been reported in nzherald.co.nz dated 15 January 2017.
The circus had exotic animals, flashy costumes and death-defying acrobats, and has been a staple of entertainment in the United States since the mid-1800s. The troupes traveled around America by train, and won over the audiences with the sheer scale of entertainment and exotic animals. However, as the 20th century went on, kids began to lose interest because there were alternatives like movies, television, video games and the internet.
The company broke the news to circus employees after shows in Orlando and Miami. As of now, Ringling Bros. has two touring circuses this season and will perform 30 shows between now and May after which it will close down.
