Govardhan Eco Village of ISKCON Mumbai bags awards of Green Organisation, UK


Govardhan Eco Village of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has received award of the Green Organisation, UK - this is the Green Apple Awards for Built Environment and Architectural Heritage Award 2016. The award was received by Radha Mohan Prabhu on behalf of GEV for its green building initiatives at a function held recently at London in UK.

The village is spread across 100 acres. ISKCON's GEV is a sustainable farming community and retreat center located near Mumbai. It is a setup where 100 per cent recycling is demonstrated. Everything that is produced is consumed and recycled into bio-reusable material.
On the occasion, GEV also received the honor of being branded as the International Green World Ambassador. Green Organization was started in 1994 and is an independent, non-profit, non-political, environment group, dedicated to recognizing, rewarding and promoting best environmental practice around the world.
