Bengalaru faces the heat of summer at 35.5 degree Celsius before summer really sets in

On Monday, Bengalaru recorded a temperature of 35.5 degree Celsius - it was the highest maximum temperature recorded in the month of February in 10 years, and second all-time high for the month. This is according to the India Meteorological Department who have blamed the spike in temperature to the changing landscape all around with concrete skyscrapers, reduced greenery and water bodies, and short winters.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 23 February 2016.
The temperature on Monday was 35.5 degree Celsius, the highest for February since 2006 while the all-time high recorded by the city was 35.9 degree Celsius on February 17, 2005. This is attributed to an increase in the number of concrete buildings which is triggering this kind of temperature rise. Reduction in greenery and water bodies is basically responsible because these act as coolants. But, these are reducing at a rapid rate in the city and there s no balancing agent. Hence, Bengaluru has begun to burn in February itself.
