Delhi transport problems to end with introduction of 1000 new cluster buses

The government of Delhi is serious about making transportation in the Capital easy for its residents and has, therefore, decided to add 1,000 new orange buses, including 300 AC buses, to its fleet within the next six months after getting land for depots.
As per the court's order, both Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), have to run 5,500 buses each in the national capital.
This has been reported in ibnlive.com dated 13 September 2015.
At present Delhi Transport Corporation operates around 4555 buses, while DIMTS has only 1,500 buses - 4,000 less than required number of 5,500 buses. The minister Gopal Rai has indicated that the government has identified land in areas like Rani Khera, Ghuman Hera, Dichaon Kalan, Dwarka and Khampur to construct bus depots.
The Transport Minister has also directed the officials to arrange counseling sessions for the drivers of cluster buses. This move is aimed at sensitizing them towards driving, traffic rules and behavior towards passengers.
