This has been reported in zeenews.india.com dated 9 September 2015.
The fire was extinguished by the ship`s automated suppression system and no guests or crew were injured but, due to the fire, the cruise operator had to cut the trip short.
Till the situation returned to normal, the passengers were accommodated in nearby hotels, where movies were screened and a buffet was served before they returned to spend the night on the ship. Moreover, every passenger was offered $150 credit to spend on board and free transportation into town. The Carnival has also said that passengers will get a full refund and an offer of a 50 percent discount on a future cruise.
Once thick black smoke was seen rising from the ship while it was docked in St. Thomas, the passengers and crew were told to evacuate onshore and the staff distributed water and snacks in the port.
